About the Framing Competition

The National Framing Competition forms a centre piece of The Framing Show,  attracting an increasing number of entrants from across Australia and the surrounding region.

This year’s image, ‘Eastern Yellow Robin’ is a stunning photograph by June Andersen. Most of you will know June from The Framing School. She is also a talented photographer with a particular love for wildlife photography. This beautiful wildlife photograph was chosen because of its vibrant colours and the vast possibilities it offers in the way of creative framing.

The image is produced on an Epson printer using archival inks and Epson Fine Art paper. The competition is being sponsored by Epson, with the support of industry suppliers who will be donating the prizes for the competition.

All entrants in the competition are displayed in the exhibition hall, impressing visitors with the variety and accomplishment of the designs on show, creating both a talking point and source of inspiration. Visitors are also able to vote for their favourite entrant in the Popular Choice award, which stimulates debate and allows comparison with the views of the panel of judges.

If the first place winner uses  Bainbridge Alphamat Artcare matboard exclusively in the winning piece, they will receive a bonus prize from Nielsen Bainbridge of 25 mixed sheets of their choice of Alphamat Artcare Matboard

To enter the competition framers must fill out the entry form (see below to download) and purchase a copy of the print at $20 per print (including GST and postage). There is no limit to the number of entries a framer can submit. All will be displayed for the duration of the show.
